Love My Lynchburg Home Stage
Melanie Bias of Southern Charm Staging teaches a workshop on home staging tips
Melanie Bias was born in the south in Kentucky and educated in the north at Tufts University, where she received a dual degree in International Relations and Macro-Economics. She began her career in corporate America with General Electric Power Systems in Atlanta. She caught the entrepreneurial bug at the age of 26 and opened a series of wine bars throughout the Atlanta area.
Bias met her future husband, Jerry, in New York and relocated to the area to become the Director of Operations for the Urban League of Southern Connecticut, a non-profit organization that empowers and educates the underserved community with workforce development training and first homebuyer education.
Years later they decided to pursue a slower pace of life and moved to their farm in Charlottesville, to operate the family vineyard and winery that Jerry began in 2001, post-9/11. Melanie was in charge of daily operations, handled marketing and shared in the enjoyment of winemaking and tasting with her husband.
Fast forward to the present: Melanie and Jerry traveled to Charleston for a family wedding and instantly fell in love with the city’s history and architecture. They were on the verge of starting a family and quickly decide to relocate the family, so their young daughter could claim her birthright as a Charleston native. Upon moving to Charleston in 2013, Bias founded Southern Charm Staging, a home-staging business located in West Ashley, where she assists property owners, managers and listing agents as they prepare homes for sale. She joined Carolina One as a Realtor in July 2018.
